Description
Water is commonly wasted in public washrooms, especially because of automatically flushing urinals. Our water management systems can help you stop wasting water instantly. They use a valve and sensor system to control water usage in urinal systems. Rather than flushing at set intervals, a water manager ensures that water is only flushed away when it is needed. The units are professionally fitted and maintained by our engineers.
How does it work?
An infra-red sensor is placed on the ceiling. This works together with a valve that is fitted onto the pipe, controlling the flow of water. The sensor detects motion and, if no one is detected, the valve remains closed. This enables the urinals to flush according to use rather than all day and all night. If unused, there will be an automatic hygiene flush after 6 hours which ensures cleanliness when the urinals are not in use.
Some automatic urinals flush continuously, with some even flushing every 10 minutes. With a typical 9 litre cistern, you could be wasting over 1000 litres of water a day. This continuous flushing can significantly increase water consumption and utility costs.
If you are on a water meter, installing a water management system could help you save up to 80% of your urinal water costs on your water bills. Not only that, but you will be helping the environment too.
